~ Hontou no Jibun ~

Posted by ultrabeast at 06:03 PM on March 22, 2008.

I'll live life to the fullest, even if I’m covered in rocks
Loudly I’ll say, do your best! Do your best! (Do your best!)
Our lives won’t cease
So let’s sing an endless song

About the content management system (CMS)... Done with quite a lot of the back-end tweaking and tinkering..
Actually, being as open-ended as this CMS is, there's lots more things that could be done and can be added.. but I think it's a good time to Let It Be (as The Beatles said) at this stage and derive contentment by typing out content instead...

Time to relax ~!

"WHITE Day"

Posted by ultrabeast at 09:03 AM on March 14, 2008.

"There's no such thing as a fated person"
Although that's what everybody, while laughing tells me
The pain that I am feeling now... is something real
The me who noticed is always shining... because of you

..
..
..

... "White Day" is the day that guys in Japan reciprocate by giving gifts to girls - having (hopefully) received chocolate (or other gifts/favours of equal or superior value) from girls* a month earlier on Valentine's Day ...

...and what better day than today... and what better present to present (^_^) ... than:

Have fun, children! :D

Mistakes? Learning? - Gotta instill the right attitude to it in my head.

Posted by ultrabeast at 03:55 PM on March 5, 2008.

In the current undesirable atmosphere, just happened to read some articles online:

... McCain became enmeshed in a scandal during the 1980s, called Keating Five, in the context of the Savings and Loan crisis of that decade.
... Between 1982 and 1987, McCain had received approximately $112,000 in political contributions from Charles Keating Jr.  ... etc. etc.
On his Keating Five experience, McCain said: "The appearance of it was wrong. It's a wrong appearance when a group of senators appear in a meeting with a group of regulators, because it conveys the impression of undue and improper influence. And it was the wrong thing to do."

In 1985, Keating hired Alan Greenspan as an economic consultant, in an effort to convince an oversight agency to exempt Lincoln Savings from certain regulations. Greenspan delivered a favorable report, writing that Lincoln Savings was "a financially strong institution that presents no foreseeable risk to depositors or the government." (Greenspan produced similar favorable reports on numerous other banks that also failed soon after.) The agency ultimately declined the request.

The thing is, it appears that nobody even remembers or even knows of these. As it is said in Chinese, "18 years and another good man." (not really thinking of a better translation now)

---

I guess the important thing from this is to realize when we've made a mistake, what more optimal or efficient courses of action could have been taken, and make the effort to take these other courses of action even when your comfort zone is all but screaming at you to not leave it.
Rather than not knowing that the mistake even exists at all.

And not kick yourself over and over again all over it. But rather, embrace it.
Heck, even people who don't resolve to improve themselves from their mistakes (and indeed, resolve to continue them) don't lose sleep over that at night. So why should the conscientious you.

I guess we learn more from just one mistake compared to when things go smoothly for us over and over again.
Better to realize that we never knew, than to never know at all (although never needing to know at all, truthfully, is really comfortable - as blissful insulation always is.)

"You go out of your way to help old ladies cross the street, watch your feet to make sure you don't step on bugs, ... "

The (Undastardly) Deed of the Day (DotD)

"You go out of your way to help old ladies cross the street, watch your feet to make sure you don't step on bugs, ... "

Hhmm.. somewhere it is stated that I have a high inclination to lead old ladies cross the street, among other similar things... (hopefully, some of them will involve nubile young girls instead, for variety)

..

..

..

So, who knows that the opportunity for me to do that really happened... today. (...involving the geriatric citizen part. Not the nubile young girl part.)

On the way to work today... I was flagged down by two elderly ladies - who came out practically blocking the middle of the road which I was travelling on. Okay, screen down the window to see what they want... From my meagre knowledge of their dialect apparently one of them needed to be sent to a clinic (which is some distance away by foot) ... one of them was pretty embarassed about needing me to send them to the clinic's doorstep but the other had (the better sense) of insisting to her friend that that was exactly what I should do...

...and, you guessed it, provided the full service - of sending them to the clinic's doorstep.

And so that concluded the early morning's episode. On exiting the car, the duo profusely expressed their gratitude by saying
"Thank you, thank you, Jesus bless you, Jesus bless you..."

Now that I think about it (which is not something that I find myself doing too often, hence the frequency of my finding myself in... unsavoury situations)
That really opened up the security risk of my getting kidnapped to serve as a sex slave.

(......I've thoughtfully emptied the swimming pool for you, should imagining that scenario for the esteemed guest induce the primal urge to vomit)

Well then, this little episode did bring a smile to my face and a glow to the start of the day though...

Now, if nubile young girls would just require my transportation services.......

* In a classic Chinese text extolling virtues for make benefit of feudal Chinese society, there is a phrase " 善欲人見 不是真善 , 惡恐人知 便是大惡 " which translates as "Kindness desired to be seen by others, is not true kindness, Evil that fears being revealed, is truly great evil"
However, as this is a account of fact rather than opinion - hence does not constitute a shameless exercise of self-promotion.

Knee Deep in...

Posted by ultrabeast at 09:34 PM on February 1, 2008.

Recently a pressing need to accurately and unambiguously define the measure of the level of preoccupation with *subsistence pastimes* presented itself. And as a responsible citizen to promote the propagation of correct knowledge... what could I do but...

Here for the deep explanation.
